Client Reviews

From recent engagements.

"We came to Rattana Works at a point when we had collected a lot of opinions about what technology we should adopt, but no clear way of deciding between them. The readiness review helped us understand what we were actually working with before we spent anything significant. The written note was direct without being prescriptive — which suited us."

"The roadmap engagement was more useful than I expected, mainly because the sessions were genuinely joint — we were not sitting through presentations. By the end, the document felt like something we had built together, which made it much easier to explain to the board. The interim drafts at each stage kept us engaged with the process rather than waiting for a final report."

"We had engaged a larger firm a few years earlier and found the output largely unusable — too abstract, and not connected to how we actually work. The Rattana Works advisory partnership was different in practice. The advisor understood Thai business culture without needing it explained, and the correspondence between sessions was as useful as the sessions themselves."

"Honestly, the most valuable part was the introductory call — which cost nothing — because it helped us realise we were not actually ready for a roadmap engagement yet. The advisor was clear about that rather than proceeding anyway. We did the readiness review first, which turned out to be the right sequence. Four stars because we should have started here earlier."

"We were in the middle of a significant ERP selection when we brought in Rattana Works. Having someone in vendor meetings who was not aligned with any of the vendors, and who could read the Thai-language documentation as well as the English, made a material difference to how we evaluated the shortlist. The written summaries after each meeting were particularly useful."

"The pace of the advisory partnership was genuinely client-led, which I had not experienced before with external consultants. There were months when we needed to slow down — for internal reasons — and the engagement adjusted without friction. The advisor was straightforward about what was and was not clear in our situation, which I found more useful than confident answers."

Case Summaries

A few engagements in more detail.

Challenge

A 120-person logistics firm in Bangkok had invested in three separate software systems over five years. None of them communicated with each other. Finance, operations, and customer service each maintained separate records, leading to regular discrepancies and manual reconciliation work that absorbed two to three staff days per week.

What We Did

Conducted a Digital Readiness Review covering all three systems, the data flows between teams, and the manual processes that had grown up around the gaps. Produced a written note identifying three integration options with rough cost and complexity estimates, and a short list of considerations for leadership before committing to any of them.

Outcome

The leadership team used the note to prepare a board presentation and subsequently commissioned a systems integrator to address the highest-priority gap. The review engagement cost ฿11,200 and took three weeks. The client reported that the structured framing of the options was more useful than previous ad hoc vendor discussions.

"The written note gave us something concrete to put in front of the board, rather than another set of opinions from the people trying to sell us something." — Managing Director

Challenge

A mid-market manufacturer in Samut Prakan was planning a significant capital allocation to digital infrastructure over the following three years but had no agreed view internally of what that should cover, in what sequence, or how to assess the trade-offs. Different departments had different priorities and the IT function lacked the standing to facilitate a resolution.

What We Did

Ran a ten-week Technology Roadmap Engagement with weekly sessions alternating between the operations leadership and the IT and finance teams. Produced five interim drafts before the final document, allowing each group to engage with the emerging content. The final roadmap covered 14 initiatives across three years, with explicit dependency mapping and a risk register for each.

Outcome

The roadmap document was adopted as the basis for the company's three-year technology budget planning. Twelve months later, seven of the fourteen initiatives were underway, broadly on the sequence and budget described in the document. The client has since updated the roadmap twice using the structure we provided.

"We have updated the document twice since the engagement ended. That was the point — something we could actually maintain." — COO
